Selling a pig

Question

Question: A Muslim found a wounded pig in the forest and is selling it for a hundred rupees. Is this permissible for a Muslim?

Answer

The pig is impure in its very essence (najis al-ʿayn) and categorically haram. Selling it is a void sale (bayʿ batil) and is by no means permissible, as is stated in al-Durr al-Mukhtar.
