Is the Prophet’s ﷺ Rank Equal to That of an Elder Brother?

Question

The rank of the Prophet ﷺ is equal to that of an elder brother — how is that possible?

Answer

In the noble hadith it is said: [ar]أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ وَلَا فَخْرَ[/ar] “I am the master of the children of Adam, and [I say it] without boasting.” The rank of the Noble Prophet ﷺ before Allah is so exalted that neither any angel nor any prophet can attain it — how, then, can he be equal to an elder brother?
