Tawassul in a Na‘t

Question

There is a na‘t (poem in praise of the Prophet ﷺ) in whose verses there is praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and thereafter a certain plea on behalf of one’s brothers. Is reciting verses of this kind contrary to the Sunna? And is it established from the first three generations to write such verses and send them to someone, or not? The verses: [ar]نور سے تیرے سب ہوئے پیدا ٭ آپ ہیں فخر شاہ و گدا[/ar] “From your light all were created ٭ you are the pride of king and beggar.

Answer

Supplicating through the tawassul of the Noble Prophet ﷺ is indeed established. Apart from that, it has not come to my notice that anyone in the three generations attested with goodness recited verses of this kind; and these verses are not verses at all — neither is the rhyme (qafiya) correct, nor the radif (a refrain word repeated after the rhyme in each couplet)
