الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

E534 Iron tartrate — is it halal?

Description

Iron tartrate E534 is a dark green aqueous solution (about 35 %) of an iron(III) complex with sodium tartrates; an anti-caking agent only for salt and salt substitutes. L-tartaric acid (c1, host E334) is isomerised with sodium hydroxide (c8, host E524) and iron(III) chloride is added (c9; HCl — c10, host E507).
