Description

Calcium sulphate E516: CaSO4·nH2O (n = 0 or 2) — gypsum, anhydrite. Main raw material — natural gypsum and anhydrite (c1; in China the food grade only from natural gypsum); secondary gypsum (c2). Chemical routes — sulphuric acid with limestone, lime, calcium chloride (c3–c7); by-product gypsums of oxalic, phosphoric, citric, lactic acids, desulphurisation and other industries (c8–c20). Reagents and other — c21–c25.
