The Holy Quran 35:44 — Surah Fatir

Arabic text

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِيمًا قَدِيرًا

Translation

Have they not travelled in the lands and seen what was the result of those (Kuffaar nations) before them who were (much) more powerful than them? Allaah is not such that anything in the heavens and the earth can defeat him (He is Capable of destroying people regardless of their power and might.) He is the All Knowing, Powerful (He cannot be made helpless).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أو لم يَسِرْ كفار «مكة» في الأرض، فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم كعاد وثمود وأمثالهم، وما حلَّ بهم من الدمار، وبديارهم من الخراب، حين كذبوا الرسل، وكان أولئك الكفرة أشد قوة وبطشًا من كفار «مكة» ؟ وما كان الله تعالى ليعجزه ويفوته من شيء في السماوات ولا في الأرض، إنه كان عليمًا بأفعالهم، قديرًا على إهلاكهم.
