The Holy Quran 31:16 — Surah Luqman

Arabic text

يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُن فِى صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ أَوْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ

Translation

(Luqmaan also advised his son saying,) "O my beloved son! If there has to be an action equivalent to the weight of a mustard seed (hidden) within a rock or (scattered somewhere) in the heavens or (somewhere) in the earth, Allaah would (locate it and) bring it (for reward or punishment in the Aakhirah). Without doubt, Allaah is (the Knower of) the subtle (has knowledge of the most intricate and subtle details), Informed (nothing is hidden from Him)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا بنيَّ اعلم أن السيئة أو الحسنة إن كانت قَدْر حبة خردل -وهي المتناهية في الصغر- في باطن جبل، أو في أي مكان في السموات أو في الأرض، فإن الله يأتي بها يوم القيامة، ويحاسِب عليها. إن الله لطيف بعباده خبير بأعمالهم.
