How the zakat of a safih (one lacking sound judgement) is paid

Question

When a minor becomes legally adult (baligh) according to the Shari‘a but remains [like] a minor in worldly affairs — for example, if his wealth were handed over to him, there is a fear that he would squander it, and the like — what is the procedure for the zakat of his wealth?

Answer

The amount of zakat should be calculated and given to him so that he spends it on the recipients of zakat.
