Is it a madrasa or a village meeting house?

Question

In the village of Shoram, in the quarter of Mir Bakhsh, there is a village meeting house (for gatherings and receiving guests) adjoining the mosque, in which religious teaching has always been carried on. Its repairs are done with the mosque’s money — is this permissible or impermissible? (2) From time to time a Muslim wedding procession arrives, and then the children are given a holiday of a day or two. (3) All the Muslims have always been pleased and give support; no one has raised his head in opposition. (4)

Answer

The true state of affairs is known only to Allah, but from the outward appearance and the established practice it appears that the place is a madrasa: religious teaching takes place in it and it is repaired with the mosque’s money. On the occasion of some celebration it is borrowed from the madrasa (as ‘ariya, a free loan for use)
