The legal profession: earnings and eating at a lawyer’s home
Question
Question: What is the ruling on practising advocacy (wakala), on the money earned through it, and on eating food in their homes — is it proper or not?
Answer
If advocacy is undertaken in a truthful case, with the work and the wage properly specified, and nothing contrary to the Shariʿa is done in it, then advocacy itself, the money of its wage and eating from it are proper.
