An explanation of khul‘

Question

Question: What is khul‘ according to the Shari‘a procedure? I hope you will kindly write about it in detail for our information.

Answer

If, owing to incompatibility of temperaments or for some other reason, it becomes difficult for the spouses to live together, and the husband is not willing to pronounce talaq, then the Shari‘a permits this too: that the woman and the man enter into khul‘ (divorce for a consideration)
