What do the scholars of religion and the esteemed muftis say on this matter: what is the status of the announcement of the moon committee in Delhi which All India Radio broadcasts? Should one act on this news or not? For neither the president of the moon committee nor any of its members makes the announcement on the radio; rather, only in the news is the president of the committee cited. Likewise in Pakistan too there is a moon committee, and its president usually announces the moon himself on Radio Pakistan.
