Breaking the fast on a verbal message about the sighting

Question

Here the first fast of the blessed month of Ramadan fell on a Thursday, and when on Thursday it was the 29th of the blessed Ramadan, because of cloud cover the moon was seen neither in the town of Beawar nor in the town of Ajmer Sharif, and on Friday all the Muslims of Ajmer and Beawar kept the thirtieth fast.

Answer

If the people of Beawar refer to this respected scholar in their questions and affairs, and he is the one to whom people turn for fatwas (marji‘ al-fatwa), and the two men through whom he sent the order and the message to break the fast are both reliable and of accepted testimony (maqbul al-shahada)
