Salawat After the Prayer in Kashmir

Question

The salawat which is recited in Kashmir after the Fajr and ‘Isha’ prayers — is it correct to recite it or not?

Answer

The salawat which is recited in the prayer is correct to recite after every prayer — Fajr, Zuhr, ‘Asr, Maghrib, ‘Isha’ — and indeed at any time, day and night. But when people are occupied with prayer, let them recite quietly so that no one’s prayer is disturbed; otherwise they may also recite in a low voice. And let them not compel anyone; there is no harm in encouraging [it].
