The Imamate of a Blind Man (Conditions)

Question

What is the ruling on praying behind a blind man and a one-eyed man who keeps his body and clothes protected [from impurity]? Please write, giving a reference from the hadith and the Qur’an.

Answer

It is valid, provided that he is a scholar (‘alim), cautious, and there is nothing in him contrary to the position of imam.
