Raising the index finger by one who does not know how it is done

Question

Question: for a worshipper who does not know the method of raising the finger in the tashahhud, is it preferable (awla) to omit raising the index finger altogether, or should he raise it just as knowledgeable people raise it?

Answer

The one who does not know should raise the finger just as the knowledgeable person does.
