How to make the intention for sunna prayers

How should the intention be made for the sunna prayers? Please write. Here some people say “sunna of Allah [and] the Messenger,” and some say “the way of the Messenger.”

Answer

The intention for the sunna prayers should be made like this, for example: “I pray two rak‘as of the sunna of Maghrib for Allah.” Sunna is what the way of the Messenger is called. Saying [the intention] with the tongue is not necessary.
