Digging a grave for oneself and performing dhikr in it
Question
What is [the ruling on] digging a grave for oneself and keeping it [ready], and entering the grave morning and evening to perform dhikr and the like [there]?
Answer
Digging a grave for oneself in land that one owns is also permissible. If, in order to keep present in mind the importance of death and the conditions of the grave, [a person] goes there and also performs dhikr and recitation [of the Qur’an], so that light (nur) is established there, there is no harm in that either.
