Burial next to a Christian graveyard
Question
Here there has long been a graveyard, Lakhi Bagh; now there is no room at all left in it for burial. “Aspersiusimi”(?) granted a plot of land for a Muslim graveyard some fourteen years ago, but it adjoins the graveyard of the Christians. Now the respected Hajji Ishtiyaq Ahmad, the vice-chairman, has had an enclosure for this land, a gate, a mosque and so on built.
Answer
Since the graves of the Muslims are separate from the graves of the Christians, and there is also a dividing boundary between them, there is no harm in burying [there]. It is stated in “al-Shami” (vol. 1, p. 835)
