The deceased woman said in a dream that she is alive

Question

A woman named Fatima passed away; today it is twenty-three days [since then]. During this period the deceased has appeared in the dreams of various relatives, and in them there is always this demand: “I am alive, take me out.” The death occurred in childbirth. The husband is demanding that the grave be dug open. What is the ruling of the Sacred Law? And does this death come under the ruling of martyrdom (shahada) or not?

Answer

A woman who dies in giving birth to a child is also a martyr (shahid). It is not correct to dig open the grave on the basis of such a dream. After being placed in the grave, the affairs of the barzakh (the intermediate realm) begin.
