The wording of the intention for the funeral prayer

Question

What are the words of the intention (niyya) for the funeral prayer (salat al-janaza)? Kindly explain.

Answer

The intention is made in the heart: that the prayer is for Allah and the supplication (du‘a) is for the deceased.
