Sewing coats and trousers

Question

Question: Zayd’s work is sewing clothes, and he has to make various kinds of garments, among which he also has to make coats and trousers; and trousers nowadays are being made in such a style that they are tight around the thighs. Kindly answer whether sewing coats and trousers is permissible or impermissible.

Answer

In sewing such clothing there is no likelihood of exposing the ‘awra (satr), that is, it does not uncover that part of a man’s body whose covering is fard. If the trousers are tight around the thighs in such a way that the shape of the thigh does not show through, then there is no difficulty.
