Shaving the beard by mujahidin

Question

Question: When one person, or several, are asked, “Why do you shave your beards?”, they say: “We are mujahidin; if you do not believe it, take us and see whether we are ready to do (it) or not.” From this it became known that shaving the beard is permissible for mujahidin. So did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at any time tell the mujahidin to shave their beards or not? If he did, was it for some particular benefit (maslaha) or general?

Answer

Ask them themselves: by what proof is permission for mujahidin to shave the beard established? In the noble hadith the prohibition of shaving the beard is general. So by what proof do they exempt the mujahidin?
