The Infallibility of the Prophets ﵈

Question

What is the belief of the Ahl al-Sunna wa-l-Jama‘a concerning the infallibility of the prophets (‘ismat al-anbiya)? Kindly substantiate it with the texts [of the books] and the explicit text (nass) of hadith. In which book and by which statement does Mawdudi go against the infallibility of the prophets? Kindly grant a detailed answer; it will be a favour.

The issue of the infallibility of the prophets ﵈ is set out in detail in the books of ‘aqida and tafsir.
