He acquired knowledge from Ḥaḍrat Ibn Masʿūd, Ḥaḍrat ʿUmar, Ḥaḍrat ʿAlī, Ḥaḍrat Muʿādh ibn Jabal, and Ḥaḍrat Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, may Allah be pleased with them; he prayed behind Ḥaḍrat Abū Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq; the Mother of the Believers Ḥaḍrat ʿĀʾishah aṣ-Ṣiddīqah took him under her care as an adopted son.
