Leaf-Cup Offerings to “Shahid Baba”

Question

In a mosque, or in some niche of a house, saying “Shahid Baba is here”, Hindus and Muslims make offerings in leaf-cups upon it. What is the ruling [on this] according to the Sacred Law?

Answer

It is a polytheistic (shirk) act; repentance (tawba) is obligatory.
