The Definition of Fard, Wajib and the Rest

Question

Please state the definition of fard, wajib, sunna mu’akkada, [sunna] ghayr mu’akkada, mustahabb, haram, makruh tahrimi, makruh tanzihi and bid‘a.

Answer

Fard is that the command to perform which is established by a decisive proof (dalil qat‘i); wajib is that the command to perform which is established by a probable proof (dalil zanni); sunna mu’akkada is that regarding which constant practice [of the Prophet ﷺ] (muwazaba) is established.
