The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

Allulose (psicose) — is it halal?

Description

D-allulose (D-psicose) is a rare sugar, an epimer of fructose, about 70 % as sweet as sucrose; it occurs naturally in small amounts. Industrially it is made from fructose (usually from maize starch) with a microbial epimerase — mostly from GM bacteria, in cells on alginate or on a resin; it is purified with carbon, ion exchangers, chromatography and crystallised from water or ethanol.
