The Holy Quran 9:25 — Surah At-Tawbah

Arabic text

لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ ۙ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ۙ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُم مُّدْبِرِينَ

Translation

Without doubt Allaah has assisted you on numerous occasions, as well as on the day of Hunayn when your superior numbers impressed you, but these were of no avail to you (because the enemy took you completely by surprise). The earth became narrow for you despite its vastness (you could find nowhere to hide) and you turned away in flight (leaving Rasulullaah ﷺ).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لقد أنزل الله نَصْرَه عليكم في مواقع كثيرة عندما أخذتم بالأسباب وتوكلتم على الله. ويوم غزوة (حنين) قلتم: لن نُغْلَبَ اليوم من قلة، فغرَّتكم الكثرة فلم تنفعكم، وظهر عليكم العدو فلم تجدوا ملجأً في الأرض الواسعة ففررتم منهزمين.
