The Holy Quran 7:190 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَـٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚ فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Translation

(However,) When He granted them a healthy child, they both attributed partners to Allaah in that (child) which He had granted them (by saying that a certain saint, idol, treatment, etc had granted them the child). Allaah is Exalted above all (gods) that they ascribe to Him.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فلما رزق الله الزوجين ولدًا صالحًا، جعلا لله شركاء في ذلك الولد الذي انفرد الله بخلقه فعبَّداه لغير الله، فتعالى الله وتنزه عن كل شرك.
