The Holy Quran 6:91 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓ إِذْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ بَشَرٍ مِّن شَىْءٍ ۗ قُلْ مَنْ أَنزَلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِهِۦ مُوسَىٰ نُورًا وَهُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ ۖ تَجْعَلُونَهُۥ قَرَاطِيسَ تُبْدُونَهَا وَتُخْفُونَ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَعُلِّمْتُم مَّا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنتُمْ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ ۖ ثُمَّ ذَرْهُمْ فِى خَوْضِهِمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

Translation

They (the Jews) have not recognised (the power and worth of) Allaah as they should have done when they said, "Allaah has not revealed anything to any human being." Say (to them), "Then who has revealed the Book that Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام brought as a light and guidance for people? You placed (compiled) it in various pages that you showed (to others), but much of it you hid away (from people). You were taught such things that neither you nor your forefathers had knowledge of." Say (to them), "Allaah (revealed all of this)!" and then leave them to play their (absurd) games (after you have preached the message to them, leave them to do as they please because your duty has been done).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما عَظَّم هؤلاء المشركون الله حق تعظيمه; إذ أنكروا أن يكون الله تعالى قد أنزل على أحد من البشر شيئًا من وحيه. قل لهم -أيها الرسول-: إذا كان الأمر كما تزعمون، فمن الذي أنزل الكتاب الذي جاء به موسى إلى قومه نورًا للناس وهداية لهم؟
