The Holy Quran 6:152 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ ۖ وَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَإِذَا قُلْتُمْ فَٱعْدِلُوا۟ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ ۖ وَبِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْفُوا۟ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Translation

And approach (use or invest) the wealth of the orphan (who is in your care) only in a favourable (fair or profitable) manner until he reaches maturity. And (in addition to all these commands) give full measure and weight in fairness (when you trade with people). We do not place on a soul a responsibility unless it is within its capability (all these commands are therefore within the capability of every person). Adopt justice when you speak (pass judgement) even though it be your relative (for whom or against whom you judge) and fulfil the pledge of Allaah (to worship Him Alone). These are the things which Allaah has (solemnly) commanded you so that you may take heed (receive advice).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولا تقربوا أيها الأوصياء مال من مات أبوه وهو صغير إلا بالحال التي تصلح بها أمواله ويَنْتَفِع بها، حتى يصل إلى سن البلوغ ويكون راشدًا، فإذا بلغ ذلك فسلموا إليه ماله، وأوفوا الكيل والوزن بالعدل الذي يكون به تمام الوفاء. وإذا بذلتم جهدكم فلا حرج عليكم فيما قد يكون من نقص، لا نكلف نفسًا إلا وسعها.
