The Holy Quran 50:16 — Surah Qaf

Arabic text

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ

Translation

Verily, We have created man, We are aware of the (evil) whispers that enter his heart (soul) and We are closer to him than his jugular vein. (We know him better than himself.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولقد خلقنا الإنسان، ونعلم ما تُحَدِّث به نفسه، ونحن أقرب إليه من حبل الوريد وهو عِرْق في العنق متصل بالقلب.
