The Holy Quran 4:81 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

وَيَقُولُونَ طَاعَةٌ فَإِذَا بَرَزُوا۟ مِنْ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى تَقُولُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَكْتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَ ۖ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

Translation

They (the Munaafiqeen) say (to Rasulullaah), "Obedience (to your commands is our task) !" However, when they leave your presence, a group of them plot at night (to do) other than that which you said. Allaah records the plotting they discuss. So ignore them and trust in Allaah (hand over your affairs to Allaah). Allaah suffices as Defender.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ويُظْهر هؤلاء المعرضون -وهم في مجلس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم- طاعتهم للرسول وما جاء به، فإذا ابتعدوا عنه وانصرفوا عن مجلسه، دبَّر جماعة منهم ليلا غير ما أعلنوه من الطاعة، وما علموا أن الله يحصي عليهم ما يدبرون، وسيجازيهم عليه أتم الجزاء، فتول عنهم -أيها الرسول- ولا تبال بهم، فإنهم لن يضروك، وتوكل على الله، وحسبك به وليّاً وناصرًا.
