The Holy Quran 4:80 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّهَ ۖ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا

Translation

Whoever obeys the Rasool ﷺ (Muhammad ﷺ) obeys Allaah (because Rasulullaah ﷺ conveys the message of Allaah) and whoever turns away, (refusing to accept the message, then O Muhammad ﷺ, you should not upset yourself because) We have not sent you as a watcher (guard) over them (you will not be questioned for their denial because your responsibility is merely to convey the message to the best of your ability).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

من يستجب للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، ويعمل بهديه، فقد استجاب لله تعالى وامتثل أمره، ومن أعرض عن طاعة الله ورسوله فما بعثناك -أيها الرسول- على هؤلاء المعترضين رقيبًا تحفظ أعمالهم وتحاسبهم عليها، فحسابهم علينا.
