The Holy Quran 45:25 — Surah Al-Jathiyah

Arabic text

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ

Translation

When Our clear Aayaat are recited to them (proving resurrection to them), the only argument they can present is to say, "Bring forth our forefathers if you are truthful."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إذا تتلى على هؤلاء المشركين المكذبين بالبعث آياتنا واضحات، لم يكن لهم حجة إلا قولهم للرسول محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم: أحْي أنت والمؤمنون معك آباءنا الذين قد هلكوا، إن كنتم صادقين فيما تقولون.
