The Holy Quran 45:21 — Surah Al-Jathiyah

Arabic text

أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَوَآءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ

Translation

Do those (Kuffaar) who commit sins think that We will treat them like those who have Imaan and who do good deeds, making their lives and deaths equal? (They are wrong!) Evil indeed is the decision (claim) they take. (They will find out when they die and on the Day of Qiyaamah that their plight will be a pitiful one indeed, whereas the Mu'mineen will enjoy bliss and comfort.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

بل أظنَّ الذين اكتسبوا السيئات، وكذَّبوا رسل الله، وخالفوا أمر ربهم، وعبدوا غيره، أن نجعلهم كالذين آمنوا بالله، وصدقوا رسله وعملوا الصالحات، وأخلصوا له العبادة دون سواه، ونساويَهم بهم في الدنيا والآخرة؟ ساء حكمهم بالمساواة بين الفجار والأبرار في الآخرة.
