The Holy Quran 45:15 — Surah Al-Jathiyah

Arabic text

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ

Translation

Whoever does a good deed does so for his own benefit, and whoever commits a sin does so to his own detriment (because only he will suffer the punishment for his sins). You will all be returned to your Rabb shortly (and He will reward or punish you accordingly).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

من عمل مِن عباد الله بطاعته فلنفسه عمل، ومن أساء عمله في الدنيا بمعصية الله فعلى نفسه جنى، ثم إنكم -أيها الناس- إلى ربكم تصيرون بعد موتكم، فيجازي المحسن بإحسانه، والمسيء بإساءته.
