The Holy Quran 42:42 — Surah Ash-Shuraa

Arabic text

إِنَّمَا ٱلسَّبِيلُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَظْلِمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَيَبْغُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Translation

There will be blame only on those who oppress (wrong) people (by retaliating in a manner that exceeds the wrong done to them) and who unjustly rebel (cause corruption) on earth. A painful punishment shall be the lot of these people.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إنما المؤاخذة على الذين يتعدَّون على الناس ظلمًا وعدوانًا، ويتجاوزون الحدَّ الذي أباحه لهم ربهم إلى ما لم يأذن لهم فيه، فيفسدون في الأرض بغير الحق، أولئك لهم يوم القيامة عذاب مؤلم موجع.
