The Holy Quran 42:30 — Surah Ash-Shuraa

Arabic text

وَمَآ أَصَـٰبَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُوا۟ عَن كَثِيرٍ

Translation

(O mankind!) The misfortunes that afflict (come to) you are a result of the (evil) actions you earn, and (because of your many sins, you deserve to suffer even more adversities, but) Allaah pardons a great deal (many of your sins, because of which you are spared many more hardships).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما أصابكم -أيها الناس- من مصيبة في دينكم ودنياكم فبما كسبتم من الذنوب والآثام، ويعفو لكم ربكم عن كثير من السيئات، فلا يؤاخذكم بها.
