The Holy Quran 42:22 — Surah Ash-Shuraa

Arabic text

تَرَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فِى رَوْضَاتِ ٱلْجَنَّاتِ ۖ لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

Translation

(In the Aakhirah) You will see the oppressors (the Kuffaar and sinners) fearing (the punishment for) what (actions and beliefs) they earned (in the world), whereas it (the punishment) will certainly befall them. (On the contrary,) Those who have Imaan and who do righteous deeds will be in the gardens of Jannaat. They shall have whatever they desire with their Rabb (in Jannah). This is definitely a great (excellent) favour (from Allaah because entry into Jannah is impossible without Allaah's favour).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ترى -أيها الرسول- الكافرين يوم القيامة خائفين من عقاب الله على ما كسبوا في الدنيا من أعمال خبيثة، والعذاب نازل بهم، وهم ذائقوه لا محالة، والذين آمنوا بالله وأطاعوه في بساتين الجنات وقصورها ونعيم الآخرة، لهم ما تشتهيه أنفسهم عند ربهم، ذلك الذي أعطاه الله لهم من الفضل والكرامة هو الفضل الذي لا يوصف، ولا تهتدي إليه العقول.
