The Holy Quran 3:194 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

Translation

"Our Rabb, grant us what (mercy, victory, supremacy) You have promised us through Your Rusul and do not disgrace us (humiliate) on the Day of Judgement. Verily You do not break Your promise." (Although Muslims know well that Allaah never breaks His promises, they pray with these words hoping that Allaah will make them worthy of receiving what He has promised.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا ربنا أعطنا ما وعدتنا على ألسنة رسلك من نصر وتمكين وتوفيق وهداية، ولا تفضحنا بذنوبنا يوم القيامة، فإنك كريم لا تُخْلف وعدًا وَعَدْتَ به عبادك.
