The Holy Quran 3:125 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

بَلَىٰٓ ۚ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَـٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَـٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ

Translation

Certainly (this is sufficient)! (Furthermore) If you adopt Taqwa (patience, fortitude and abstain from disobedience and adopt piety) and if they (the enemy) attack you this instant, (then to remove your anxiety) your Rabb shall reinforce you with five thousand marked angels. (Allaah then sent five thousand mounted angels to assist the Muslims in the battle, each angel wearing a turban.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

بلى يكفيكم هذا المَدَد. وبشارة أخرى لكم: إن تصبروا على لقاء العدو وتتقوا الله بفِعْل ما أمركم به واجتناب ما نهاكم عنه، ويأت كفار «مكة» على الفور مسرعين لقتالكم، يظنون أنهم يستأصلونكم، فإن الله يمدكم بخمسة آلاف من الملائكة مسوِّمين أي: قد أعلموا أنفسهم وخيولهم بعلامات واضحات.
