The Holy Quran 34:31 — Surah Saba

Arabic text

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَلَا بِٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ مَوْقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ٱلْقَوْلَ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أَنتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِينَ

Translation

The Kuffaar (adamantly) say, “We shall neither believe in this Qur'aan nor in those (scriptures revealed) before it." If only you could see the time when the oppressors (these Kuffaar and sinners of shirk) will be standing before their Rabb. Each one will be passing the blame to the other. Those of a lower status (the misguided followers in the world) will say to those of a higher status (their leaders who misguided them), "If it were not for you (influencing us to commit kufr), we would have been Mu'mineen."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال الذين كفروا: لن نصدِّق بهذا القرآن ولا بالذي تَقَدَّمَه من التوراة والإنجيل والزبور، فقد كذَّبوا بجميع كتب الله. ولو ترى -أيها الرسول- إذ الظالمون محبوسون عند ربهم للحساب، يتراجعون الكلام فيما بينهم، كل يُلْقي بالعتاب على الآخر، لرأيت شيئًا فظيعاً، يقول المستضعفون للذين استكبروا -وهم القادة والرؤساء الضالون المضلون-: لولا أنتم أضللتمونا عن الهدى لكنا…
