The Holy Quran 30:8 — Surah Ar-Rum

Arabic text

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم ۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَآئِ رَبِّهِمْ لَكَـٰفِرُونَ

Translation

Have they (the Kuffaar) not pondered to themselves (and thought about the many signs of Allaah's power and Oneness)? (Have they not realised that) Allaah has created the heavens and the earth with the truth (for good reason) and for an appointed term? (Have they not deduced that just as everything else in this world comes to an end, so too will the universe come to an end on the Day of Qiyaamah, when everyone will be required to face Allaah?) (However,) Many people reject (do not believe in) their meeting with their Rabb (even though their very logic demands that a time must come when wrong-doers have to be taken to task and good-doers have to be rewarded).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أو لم يتفكر هؤلاء المكذِّبون برسل الله ولقائه في خلق الله إياهم، وأنه خلقهم، ولم يكونوا شيئًا. ما خلق الله السموات والأرض وما بينهما إلا لإقامة العدل والثواب والعقاب، والدلالة على توحيده وقدرته، وأجل مسمى تنتهي إليه وهو يوم القيامة؟ وإن كثيرًا من الناس بلقاء ربهم لجاحدون منكرون; جهلا منهم بأن معادهم إلى الله بعد فنائهم، وغفلةً منهم عن الآخرة.
