The Holy Quran 30:7 — Surah Ar-Rum

Arabic text

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَـٰهِرًا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ

Translation

They (the Kuffaar) have superficial (shallow) knowledge of (matters related to) the life of this world whereas they are negligent (do not want to understand the benefits) of (matters related to) the Aakhirah (as a result, they will be unsuccessful in the Aakhirah).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وعد الله المؤمنين وعدًا جازمًا لا يتخلف، بنصر الروم النصارى على الفرس الوثنيين، ولكن أكثر كفار "مكة" لا يعلمون أن ما وعد الله به حق، وإنما يعلمون ظواهر الدنيا وزخرفها، وهم عن أمور الآخرة وما ينفعهم فيها غافلون، لا يفكرون فيها.
