The Holy Quran 30:56 — Surah Ar-Rum

Arabic text

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْبَعْثِ ۖ فَهَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْبَعْثِ وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

(In response to this oath,) Those (people and angels) given knowledge (of Deen) and Imaan will say, "By Allaah's Book (decision), you lived (many years of your life in the world) until the Day of Resurrection. (rising) This is now that Day of Resurrection (which you denied), but you never understood (that it will certainly dawn on you)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال الذين أوتوا العلم والإيمان بالله من الملائكة والأنبياء والمؤمنين: لقد مكثتم فيما كتب الله مما سبق في علمه من يوم خُلقتم إلى أن بُعثتم، فهذا يوم البعث، ولكنكم كنتم لا تعلمون، فأنكرتموه في الدنيا، وكذَّبتم به.
