The Holy Quran 2:27 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَـٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ

Translation

(The evil-doers are) Those who break the promise (pact) they made to Allaah after agreeing to it (referring to the promise Allaah made them take at the hands of their prophets that they would believe in and assist Rasulullaah if he appeared in their time), who cut off those things that Allaah has ordered that they join (such as family ties), and who spread corruption (mischief) on earth. These are certainly the losers (because they are headed for Jahannam).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

الذين ينكثون عهد الله الذي أخذه عليهم بالتوحيد والطاعة، وقد أكَّده بإرسال الرسل، وإنزال الكتب، ويخالفون دين الله كقطع الأرحام ونشر الفساد في الأرض، أولئك هم الخاسرون في الدنيا والآخرة.
