The Holy Quran 28:44 — Surah Al-Qasas

Arabic text

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلْغَرْبِىِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ

Translation

You (O Rasulullaah ﷺ) were never by the western side (of the valley) when We gave (decreed) Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام the command (to preach to Fir'oun), nor were you among the witnesses to this (However, you know about the incident as if you were there only because Allaah had informed you about it). (This proves that Rasulullaah ﷺ was indeed Allaah's Rasool because he never had the opportunity or capability to study such things nor has he the knowledge of the unseen.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما كنت -أيها الرسول- بجانب الجبل الغربي من موسى إذ كلَّفناه أَمْرنا ونَهْينا، وما كنت من الشاهدين لذلك، حتى يقال: إنه وصل إليك من هذا الطريق.
