The Holy Quran 28:12 — Surah Al-Qasas

Arabic text

۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَـٰصِحُونَ

Translation

Before (returning Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام to his mother to suckle him,), We forbade all wet nurses to him (because of which the baby Moosa refused to suckle from any wet nurse when Fir'oun's wife tried to get him to suckle) and (finally) she (Moosa's sister) told them, "Should I show you a family who will foster him on your behalf, and who will take good care of him?" (When Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام's mother took him, the child readily took to her and suckled from her. Fir'oun's wife then hired her to suckle the child.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وحرمنا على موسى المراضع أن يرتضع منهن مِن قبل أن نردَّه إلى أمه، فقالت أخته: هل أدلكم على أهل بيت يحسنون تربيته وإرضاعه، وهم مشفقون عليه؟ فأجابوها إلى ذلك.
